The State Administration for Market Regulation issued Announcement No. 20 of 2023, integrating five old regulations including the original Supervision Regulations for Bridge Cranes (TSG Q0002-2008), to unify the safety supervision of all types of lifting machinery, including bridge, gantry, and tower cranes.
The new regulations strengthen safety monitoring and inspection requirements, enhance the compliance driving force of installing visual warning and area protection devices on bridge cranes, and include laser marking/projection lights as "visual safety boundaries" in the procurement list for more general contractors and end users.
